Nordic walking is the perfect type of sport for your active holiday! It combines sport, health and experiencing nature! Nordic walking also provides a full-body workout.

Nordic walking programme in Olang

Monday: 10.00 am – 12.00 pm – Taster course: get to know the Nordic walking movement
Tuesday: 10.00 am – 12.00 pm – Beginners course: learn and consolidate the basic techniques. Place: Olang and Rasen alternately
Wednesday: 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm – Advanced training course: improve and gain deeper knowledge of the Nordic walking technique
Thursday: 10.00 am – 12.00 pm – Nordic walking cardio course: controlled cardiovascular training to improve fitness. Place: Olang and Rasen alternately
Friday: 9.00 am – 12.00 pm – Nordic walking Alpine pasture tour: high alpine trail with a fantastic view (possibly with tasting of local specialities)

Europe’s largest Nature.Fitness.Park is located in the Kronplatz region

The largest nature and fitness park in Europe is located at the foot of the Kronplatz in the Dolomites and it stretches from Pfalzen, Bruneck via Olang as far as Rasen in the Antholz Valley. In more than 280 km, you will find easy and medium/difficult routes with various altitude profiles. Families, senior citizens, pleasure-lovers and active sportspeople will all have fun “walking”!

Nordic walking courses

Instructors offer taster courses, introductory workshops and daily excursions! The programme ranges from easy Nordic walking routes to high-altitude Nordic walking days and many other routes.

Our excursion ideas:

Route 1 – ‘Peststöckl’ plague monument: Total length: 4.8 km. From the starting point: Mitterolang park – church – follow edge of wood – right by the farm (approx. 900 m) – ‘Peststöckl’ plague monument (chapel-like wayside shrine) – Oberrain residential buildings – Pfarrstraße footpath – Mitterolang park.

Route 2 – Kalkofen: Total length: 5.65 km. From the starting point: Mitterolang park – church – follow edge of wood – right by the farm (approx. 900) – go in direction of Gassl – cross bridge – mountain bike route to Niederolang – right over the bridge – Oberrain residential buildings – joins route 1.

Route 3 – Fitness: Total length: 6.7 km. From the starting place: Mitterolang park – Tharerwirt – petrol station – Pircher/Bilam company – Edison plant – follow the forest path in the direction of Oberolang cemetery – follow edge of wood – football pitch – recovery track – cross the stream at the pond – follow direction of panorama – toboggan run– Mitterolang park.

Route 4 – Salla: Total length: 12.8 km. From the starting place: Mitterolang park – Tharerwirt – petrol station – Pircher/Bilam company – Edison plant – follow the forest path in the direction of Oberolang cemetery – follow edge of wood – Alte Böden – path no. 20 – Gasthof Sallahof – chapel – follow forest path – boarding kennels (yellow house) – left at cycle path – after approx. 150 m take the narrow steep track – crossroads – cross barrier on right – barbeque area – recovery track – cross the stream at the pond, crossroads – follow direction of panorama – toboggan run – Mitterolang park.

Route 5 - Olang reservoir: Total length: 14.1 km. From the starting place: Mitterolang park – Tharerwirt – petrol station –Pircher/Bilam company – Edison plant – follow the edge of the wood in the direction of Oberolang cemetery – follow direction of edge of wood – Sallastr. – Stauseestraße – follow right side of lake – at the end of lake right at train underpass – Sallahöfe – joins route 4.

Route 6 – Roundtrip Olang – Reischach – Olang: Total length: 14.3 km. From the starting point: Mitterolang park – Niederolang – right at the parish church – in front of the train underpass head in direction of Ried – Reischach – follow the path – Zangerlechenhof – Oberhauserhof – take track through fields – onto forest path no. 18 a in the direction of Bad Schartl – left at the crossroads and leave path no. 18 a – forest path – at crossroads head for Niederolang – church – after the bridge, take the regional road back to Mitterolang.

Route 7 – Joining route Olang – Rasen: Total length: 5 km. From the starting point: Mitterolang park – Niederolang – parish church – train underpass – Neunhäusern – mountain bike path – Gasthof Neunhäusern – head in direction of Corones campsite.

Route 8 – Joining route Olang – Reischach: Total length: 5 km. Connection from the roundtrip Olang –Reischach –Olang – from route 6 in the direction of Reischach.
